  Did anyone see the announcement yesterday? I thought they would be releasing the i5 but they are releasing a 4S which is basically the same outer shell but they've made changes within!

  yep, and none of the changes are that great, plus once again we're being ripped off compaired to the americans. over there then new prices with a 2 yr contact are 3gs free, iphone4 $99 iphone 4s 16gb $199 but over hear the iphone 4s price for a 16gb is £499!!!!! i hate to think what anyone one in this country will have to pay for the 32 or 64gb versions!
  
  yes the new phone has a better processor and a few other things, but none of the "upgrades" are that impressive and it doesn't come close to justifying the stupid uk prices

  Why are they releasing another iphone this soon?
  Not been that long since the last one,
  especially if they haven't made any noticable changes, what a rip off that is.

  well all the changes are internal, faster processor, runs new iOS5, i believe voice recognition (cause we all know how that works so well!) things like that
  
  and for apple it's actually been quite a while, the normally release a new iPhone every year, this one has actually been slightly longer than a year (not by much though)
  
  that's my main problem with iPhones, i think they're great but they cost a small fortune, they are not 100% perfect like some would have you beleive and even if you do either shell out a small fortune for the phone or lock yourself into a very expensive contract for a stupid amount of time then you'll still be lucky to go a year before you no longer have the newest phone. it's for that reason i still have a 3g, and i'll probably stick with it till the 5 actually does come out (more than likely next year) and that's not to say i'll 100% get the 5, depends what the changes actually are etc...

  oh voice recognition, basically spending 3 minutes talking to your phone increasingly louder trying to get it to dial and making yourself look insane lol,
  i almost got an iphone, way too expensive, got a nokia n8 instead,
  i might get an iphone in future when i need a new phone again.

  exactly, when will companys learn that voice recognition is always a massive let down, it either flat out gets it wrong all the time, and even worse are the ones you have to sit there for ages with, teaching them your voice and they still get it wrong most of the time. they need to learn that we will only be happy if absolutly anyone can pick it up, say whatever they want and the device get it 100% right 100% of the time!
  
  i do still think iPhones are right up there with the best phones available at the moment but the prices are big downsides, but they do have the most, best apps around at the moment, and it does tend to be the case that the iphones do something and then all the other phones follow, not all the time obviously, but with a lot of things

  yeah it would have been nice, i think a lot of the problem with why pretty much everyone is underwhelmed is all the hype and speculation that was going on. as anything they've actually done falls far short of any of the things everyone thought they would do

  What's the whole point of not changing the looks? How will all the people with the old version know that I'm more successful than them if they can't even tell that my iPhone is better than theirs?!
