A 15th-century painting depicting the skinning of corrupt royal judge Sisamnes from the time of Cambyses II in Persia, 550 BC. It was discovered that he accepted a bribe and delivered an unjust verdict. As a result, the king had him arrested and flayed alive.
His skin was then used to cover the seat in which the judge's son would sit as royal judge. As the king ordered his son to let the seat be a reminder of making fair and just judgments.
This painting was done in 1498, so expect a little embellishment, or a lot.
