Do you ever worry that you're missing something with all this?  Like how could a policy seem so dumb, and the solution so obvious, yet nothing seems to happen about it?

Maybe governments just use it as a way to keep the criminals occupied. Who knows what scrapes they'd be getting in to in if they couldn't be drug rascals.

The US likes it this way for sure. The war on drugs has fed the prison system there for decades and their prison system is nothing less than modern slavery.
