Hover cars to be built

In the land of Tel Aviv in Israel, the cars of hovering make an appearance COMING TO RULE THE WORLD! I mean umm allowing us to use them.



There will be a 500m loop around the Israel Aerospace Industries campus for testing purposes. As you can see from the above picture, these vehicles will be suspended from elevated magnetic tracks.

People will be able to use their smartphones to ask the car to meet them at a specific station and then they can head directly to their destination.

It looks to be pretty good!

Is this true or abit of a wind up. If it's true it sounds awesome, in my head im picturing people driving around in cars like the ones in the film minority report.

minority report is SO fukkin accurate prediction of the future right? i mean how all the advertisements are taylored to each person -that's what you get with google right now - and fukkin google glass?? i mean shrink that google glass down a few sizes, put it under your skin and you're living minority report basically....

Does being magnetised to a 500M track really count as hovering??, i'd say probably not since you're attached, roll on cars from films like The Fifth Element and I-Robot, the we'll really be talking hover cars

Seems to me like this is just a fancy monorail, with a much smaller passenger capacity? :-/
