X-Men Apocalypse, directed by Bryan Singer had some scathing reviews when it first hit cinemas. Fans of the X-Men movies regarded Apocalypse as tired and boring, where their favourite mutants were barely seen.
Not only were some fans disappointed with the movie, but they were also left wondering if the X-Men movies could even make a comeback after this. Some people hated the film so much they got onto the guys at Honest Trailers and begged them to review this abortion of a movie (their words, not mine).
The awesome voice behind the Honest Trailer didn't hold back either. He goes on to say the movie was basically the "Mystique show" and that Apocalypse "looks terrible", among other things.
Was I the only one who actually enjoyed this movie? In my book it shit all over Days of Future Past so I don't know why everyone's hating on it. -

this really isnt looking good isit, and i thought to myself this cant be good with no wolverine in it, but now i see he was in the movie wdf, this must of been a low budget movie but i hope not and they must of been all over the place making this, i will still watch it but funny trailer got me not as hype, nice post reede -

I love X-Men Apocalypse. The Honest Trailer guy makes some completely valid points but as the run of X-Men movies has been so sequentially incoherent I've decided to take each movie as a stand alone film and not bother to try and follow the impossibly broken story arc.
If you think about how many years ago the X-Men started it would have been impossible to keep anyone happy by doing one continuous story line while keeping up with technological advances in film, give everyone their favourite characters (even once given, not fuck them up *coughs* Gambit), do spin offs with same characters, and so many other factors. I don't think at the time the knew how huge Comic Book movies were to become. They've tried to keep it going under the wing of Fox who would be stupid to lose the franchise but in that same time we've seen 3 different Spider-Men, 2 Batmans, 2 Supermans, countless comic book heros come and go but only 1 Wolverine.
So yeah they haven't managed to do meta narrative very well but since the reboot I think they have managed to do each individual in quite a fun and exciting way considering they have to fit so many mutants in. -

I personally slightly hated this film. This trailer pretty much sums up a lot of the problems i have with it (especially that point about Magneto towards the end). Honestly i think the X-men needs new people behind the camera and a new start with a director that will embrace the comics a bit more and not let egos of actors or actresses decide how the story goes (Mystique's part in this and Lawrence). Or maybe just have a series that has any semblance of continuity.
