  Looks very Farscape and Firefly like in a few respects to me, which is a good thing,

  So far looks like it is going to be phenomenal.
  I'm not a massive GoTG fan so I'm not gonna be pissed if there are small things they change.
  
  I think Rocket could go down well with a lot of people.

  I think it's looking great so far as well, i'm a big comic fan so those tend to be the films i most enjoy, and this is clearly taking a different tone to others. Plus it's a space set sci-fi film and there haven't been enough of them lately.
  I do think they probably have stayed close to the source material (Marvel generally do). That song used in the trailer is very catchy though, ever since i heard it on the trailer it just keeps randomly popping into my head, which is distracting.

  It's definitely the biggest gamble.
  Everything has been fairly obvious superhero stuff - Thor, Cap, Avengers - and while others have hints of comedy this could be quite heavy in it.

  I think the balance of comedy to serious moments/action will be more even in the full film, but still with possibly a bit more than other Marvel films. i'm not the most knowledgeable on that particular comic but from what i've heard it has plenty of humour.

  The character portraits don't give much away and as someone pointed out to me there isn't much plot showing yet which is nice.
  Need to avoid all of that.

  No the character portraits reveal approximately nothing, but i doubt they were meant to, they were no doubt released to raise public recognition of the characters a bit before release. You are right though very little has been revealed of the plot, no doubt the next trailer will reveal more, but hopefully it doesn't go overboard and give too much.

  They recently released a new trailer for this so will put it on here keep the thread up to date
  
  Like the look of this, looks a bit different to Marvel's recent films (not that i dislike them) and the cast is good. Plus i always like to see more sci-fi films.

  New trailer has me just as excited.
  Been waiting a long time to hear those 3 words "I am Groot" and it was totally worth it. Could easily be Vin Diesel's best ever performance.

  Personally i think Groot and Rocket will end up being the most popular characters in the film (despite the immediate knee jerk reaction some had of saying it would be stupid after the first trailer) , and after not being sold on Batista in a main role (9 times out of 10 wrestlers are bad actors) i have to admit he looks the part as well.
