I don't think it was as bad as it's made out to be but it's not great. The change in tone to the previous Dc films was a good thing i think,but they didn't get the balance right in the tone. And some for an origin film there were too many villians, they had the big villian and the other one. the character whose name i can't remember who was supposed to be an old friend of Hal (who despite supposedly being around the same age was obviously older) and the other Lantern characters were very underused.
But overall it's not a totally horrible film but i doubt i would ever want to watch it again.
Unfortunately due to that film doing very badly, that means any DC film will now have the exact same dark and slightly dour tone that the Batman films have regardless of whether it is right for the character or not, because Green Lantern was their first attempt at a different (non Batman like) approach.
