  Why is everybody hating on the Green Lantern movie? For a while I have heard people slander this movie, and for the love of me I can not understand why.
  I personally like it and think it is a welcome break to the serious bore-fest that was The Dark Knight trilogy and Man of Steel.

  I.... What? Well although I may agree a change of pace from Man of Steel & the Batman trilogy might not be a bad thing there where just so many errors and delivery faults with this film it's hard to fathom how it could even stand up to the high standards the Batman Trilogy set for the DC universe.
  
  Levity is great and all but this was so off hand and blase that you ended up not caring for the characters at all. Is the girl going to die? Don't care. Will they get together in the end? Don't care. How many people did that big yellow cloud of death kill just then? Don't care. Not enough probably...
  
  It's always going to be the hardest film to make as you spend too much time in space and the film is detached and distant with only the die hard fans being able to connect to it. You spend too much time on Earth and you're not really learning what the character is all about or any of the background. But it wasn't just the Space vs Earth setting that failed this film, it was the performances, the plot line, the writing, the direction. everything.
  
  They took a potentially lucrative franchise and they made brain-dead popcorn action instead

  I don't think it was as bad as it's made out to be but it's not great. The change in tone to the previous Dc films was a good thing i think,but they didn't get the balance right in the tone. And some for an origin film there were too many villians, they had the big villian and the other one. the character whose name i can't remember who was supposed to be an old friend of Hal (who despite supposedly being around the same age was obviously older) and the other Lantern characters were very underused.
  But overall it's not a totally horrible film but i doubt i would ever want to watch it again.
  Unfortunately due to that film doing very badly, that means any DC film will now have the exact same dark and slightly dour tone that the Batman films have regardless of whether it is right for the character or not, because Green Lantern was their first attempt at a different (non Batman like) approach.

  it's not a bad film, i actually went back after watching it the first time and watched it again, nice decentish enetertaining movie, nothing special but an ok watch if you're not doing anything better...

  Another example of a potentially bad movie which I kind of liked from DC is Jonah Hex.
  Mr. Brolin was a brilliant choice to play Jonah.
  Although not perfect, the story is really good.
  I love Fassbender's character, he is great!!

  What are you all talking about there's no such thing as a Green Lantern movie. Doesn't exist.
  
  Along with those other rumoured to exist films: Daredevil, Elektra, Catwoman, Ghost Rider 1/2 and Fantastic Four 1/2.

  hi everyone i tell that i like this film not only because i like fantasy film of DC and marvel heroes but also because i like of how the film is structured... i would have the ring of green lantern for do fantastic things...(P.S. sorry for my wrong english!!! :D:D:D:D:D) W Marvel and DC comics :):):):)

  Ryan Reynolds should stick to comedies and thats it. Props to him for trying to break into other genres but he should leave action well alone (although he was ok in x men origins : Wolverine but wasnt given nearly enough time to do, well, anything). I thought the effects were pretty good but when the acting, characters and story sucks. Effects alone cant save a film.

  Ryan Reynolds can be good in action films, he is good in Safe House, but when it comes to this he just didn't seem to be trying. I will say though that at least this has some humour in it (unlike every other recent DC comics film).
