Google's cars (the ones that go around for Google Maps) are going to be driverless
The Highway code is being rewritten to allow Google to have driverless cars. So next time you see a Google car with no-one in it, do not scream and throw yourself completely over the side of the pavement causing unnecessary injury. IT'S ALL GOOD! They have no-one inside for a reason.
![]() It will have no steering wheel, brake or accelerator. There will only be a button to start, pull over and stop the vehicle. Prototypes will start to be made and they want to get the car so it memorises routes. |

RE: Google's cars (the ones that go around for Google Maps) are going to be driverless
I've been keeping up with some and have watched a few videos on it, seems like they are really getting it down. The tricky part is when they get to unmarked roads and bad weather at times, I know they still have a decent amount of bugs to workout last time I checked...

RE: Google's cars (the ones that go around for Google Maps) are going to be driverless
The concept of driverless cars has been thrown around for so long. I am not surprised that Google is one of the companies who will most likely perfect it first. Google make themselves essential to 'travel' in the cyber world. Soon they become essential to travel in the real world ;)
