Gladiators

After ITV, Fashanu and Ulrika debuted one of the most iconic TV shows in Saturday night history, Sky tried and failed to bring it back, and now it's the BBC's turn. To be honest I think they've done it. The classic intro music and event needledrops are back, the arena is vast in size, the crowd is full of energy, the contestants are just normal people, and Bradley Walsh delivers the perfect amount of dad jokes. The only minor downside is the casting of Barney Walsh as co-host might've been better if it was given to someone like Maya Jama or AJ Odudu. Football fans will also recognise who has taken on the role of refree this series. Personally I would've preferred if it had been Pierluigi Collina. It'd be nice to see a contestant go onto become as iconic as Liverpool supporter, Hollywood stuntwoman and inspiration of the ***** classic film Polite Society, Eunice Huthart.
