  It's apparently true. The second draft of the screenplay is "in the works" and according to IMDb it will be out next year.
  
  The good news is that most of the original cast look likely to return which is one reason i'm happy about it.

  Done right it could be brilliant, but there is a high chance it could be terrible especially a sequal done this long after the originals.

  Chostbusters 2 was done 5 years later and I like that just fine.
  
  I think it's more dependent on reminding the writers what made the first two good before they get started.

  True and to be honest, even if when it`s finally released the reviews are terrible and it turns out bad i`ll still watch it, just because it`s ghostbusters.

  So far all the original cast want to do it aside from murray who isn't sure, hope he decides to do it,
  and what of heard of a plan for the story it's something like because they're getting older they can't do the job as well and have to hire young blood, so that would indicate a few new cast members being added along with the original cast.

  this news has surprised me, especially as i think it was bill murray who said the game that came out not that long ago was meant to be ghostbusters 3 and that their wouldn't be a film
  
  but i am looking forward to it if it does happen, but i'm going to stay a little cautious until it's released

  If you think about it in some ways the fact that they waited longer means that they`ll have the ability to show the ghosts better,
  i`m not saying flood the film with too much cgi but what they use will look better guaranteed, even though i think the effects on the first two overall stand up well to the test of time.
