Looks like it's really happening this time.

Protests won't do any good when global consumers so heavily outnumber match-going fans, and the clubs will be assuming (most likely correctly) that the latter will eventually fall in line regardless.

And if the clubs all get kicked out of their respective leagues, then they've got more time to playing each other, and the opportunity to earn even more money?  Where's the threat?

As a Southampton fan it's easy enough to just say 'fuck em' but it must be shit if you're a supporter of one of this rabble...

Anyway, let's have a thread about it.

I say let them all go play on their own in this rich boys league in Dubai, change the club names, with no fans, any players that play in that can only play in that.
Leave these top 6 clubs in the PL, but only allow their U23's to play, it'd make the EPL much more competitive.
I'm a Norwich fan so any chance of us staying up for more than a season is good for me!

Reckon that'd be their intention tbh.

Expel the lot of em and let the rest of the football pyramid carry on undisturbed.

Yeah not to impressed when I heard about this, I thought they had let this idea go but has come back on the table some how. I think if the want to go let them go as they just holding back other teams and now some one new can be top of the league, but don't think they should be in the normal league as there getting to much choices than other clubs. But something need to be done as this been going around a while. Players need to pick that league or this one.

The money chairman's have been taking other the league now for a while now think they can do what they want, wouldn't surprise me if they play the matches in America.

    Totally agree kick them out.
I'm Scottish, I don't follow English football, so no axe to grind.  But these teams should be kicked out of your leagues.

The English FA has to have the balls to take the hit and kick them out, they should also inform them that no player from the super league will be eligible for international duty while playing in that league.
Sadly, I don't think they will have the balls to either kick them out or stop the players from putting on an England shirt.

It's funny though, we've heard from ex-players, pundits, well known fans.  But how about either the players (assuming contracts allow it) or their peers?  What do they have to say about it?  Do any of them have the balls to put their money where their morality is?  Mr Rashford being front an centre.

James Milner said a bit yesterday.

...and you'd imagine more will follow once the dust has settled a little. Though I'm less interested in hearing from players than I am these faceless owners.  Let's have them in front of the cameras answering some tough questions.

    Anyway, got some more memes.

those who live by the sword, die by the sword.
football became about the money decades ago. look at the most successful clubs and you will see the clubs who pay the highest fees for players. where were Man city before the money came in ? you can hardly complain now about another capital making venture. you with your 40 quid club shirt.
you can stop fretting though. i do not think there is any danger of this happening, the clubs are merely testing the water to see if it is acceptable . never going to happen.

I genuinely thought that the backlash was priced in, and that they’d ride it out.

Turns out they were just pure idiots.

    Fuck em.
