  Carl Froch will defend his IBF and WBA super-middleweight titles against fellow Brit and mandatory challenger George Groves. The bout will take place in either late November or early December, with the venue yet to be decided.
  
  Some quotes from Froch: "I've known George for a while. I've sparred with him and watched him grow and now he's my mandatory.
  
  "I will be pouring everything into my preparation for the fight and George will face the very best of me.
  
  "I am a proper fighter and a proper champion and I will always face my mandatory challenger rather than vacate the title."
  
  Groves, unbeaten in 19 fights with 15 knockouts, said, "This is the biggest fight of my career and being a world champion is something that I dreamed of as a kid.
  
  "I'm well ranked across all the governing bodies but fighting Carl is the one that I wanted the most. He is a big name in the UK and a well-respected champion around the world.
  
  "I have a great team around me that can put together the right game plan to beat him and become a world champion and a major force in the super-middleweight division."

  Respect to Carl Froch for facing his Mandatory challenger rather than vacate the world title. I hate to say this but I believe that Carl Froch is making a big mistake. He should have pursued fights with Andre ward, Mikkle Kessler, Jean Pascal and possibly even Bernard Hopkins.
  
  From a business and financial point of view this is not a smart move as he's not going to make anywhere near the big money he will get for fighting the big names in boxing.
  
  That's why I have to respect him: he's not ducking anybody. He fighting the best.
  
  I wish him the best of luck and hope that I am wrong and that it all works out well for him.

  This is a big money PPV fight still, the British Market will make sure of that. Plus there will be interest in the US to see if the young buck can dethrone the current 2 belt Champion so I wouldnt say he wont be getting a big pay check for this
  
  As for the fight itself, I think George is going to surprise a lot of people. He has improved in every aspect of his fighting and his physical attributes are very impressive to. He will box smart and Froch will be surprised by his speed and power

  I agree. Fight will make Carl Froch big money but far less than if he had fought the big names in the United States. The pay would be huge.
  
  This is why I don't think he shouldn't have taken this fight. It's a backward step for him in terms of opposition and money. Also George Groves has a very good chance of beating Froch. Carl froch is not as fast as George Groves and he can box well too.
  
  He should have taken this fight after having had the big fights and put all those huge paydays from the big fights in the bank.
  
  This is not a smart move on the part of Carl Froch. A great opportunity for George Groves to show how good he is, get a big payday and possibly win the world championship.
  
  He has nothing to lose.

  i'm lookin forward to this one. froch annoys me a bit with his arrogance, but as a fighter he's great to watch and never boring. he always turns up to fight and will take on anyone and i respect him big time for that
