Free view channels

hi people, does anyone know what time do the channels start on freeview, haven't got sky just large Virgin media package with doesn't have any babe channels on it.
Also if so what stations are on there, the listings in on my freeview list but no channels appear when ever I've checked them, I've checked quite a few times at various times of the day,
