Coming back to both 'The Windmill massacre' and 'The Monster', as chance would have it i have watched both over the past few days. As for 'The Windmill Massacre' i was gonna post about that originally in the 'films you could,nt make it to the end of, unsuprisingly, because i couldnt. Sadly, one or two half decent gore scenes couldnt mask how undeniably dull and mediocre the film was. Made it to around half way through before deciding to shut it off. Its not all doom and gloom though thanks to 'The Monster'. Decided to take a chance owing solely to some positive critical praise and in my opinion, they are right for once lol. Yep, the film at times, is very slow and plodding but thats the whole point. The film excels in building a sense of dread given the simplistic plot. A slow burner which, no suprise, eventually leads to the reveal and kudos to the fx dept, excellent job with the creature. A tiny cast, character driven horror, not overly reliant on the gore but its there when needed.
