  Well, i watched Deathgasm last weekend and while it weakend in places (with sadly a fairly below par finale) on the whole, it did the whole comedy horror genre justice. For the most part it was nothing but practical effects which made the world of difference with the gore. Coupled wth some truly inventive weapons (the scene in the religious families house is hysterical), a fantastic metal soundtrack with so many bands i had never even heard of which i now need to research..even the scenes without the gore with the leads just being awkward were really good. Another great splatter offering from New Zeland. Recomended.

  Been a while since i updated this thread, so found a few new films for anyone interested.
  
  Southbound
  
  Looks like an anthology film, from the minds behind VHS apparently. Only no annoying shaky cam, which can only be a good thing. Looks interesting.
  
  The Veil
  
  Something about a ***** and lots of dead people, decent cast though (well two of them) so could be worth a look.
  
  And that's all for now. I did see some others the other day but completely forgot what they were called.
  
  Watched an interesting horror the other day 'Let us prey', not the best but had its moments. Weird ending though

  Have seen that 'The Veil' on the download sites but i dont know, somethings just not screaming out at me. Intrigued by Southbound though. Didnt dislike VHS, absolutely loved VHS2 and VHS Viral certainly had its good bits so anything else by the same powers that be has gotta be worth a consideration.

  I like Anthology films, so Southbound is one i'll probably watch. I even liked parts of VHS, it was the found footage aspect that put me off (just can't don't like it). The veil is one i'd be very unlikely to go out of my way to watch, if it ever makes its way to Sky or Netflix and i have a few hours to kill then maybe.

  Exact same director still involved (only on the writing side now), and read they even used basically the same script. I actually like the original but it's not the old and if you aren't going to change anything then what's the point?

  Cabin Fever is being remade. Now, while the first in the original series was pretty good (if memory serves) dont think it justifies a reboot, hardly a classic after all..not even close (although the 3rd in the series, that wasnt released all that long ago did have atleast one particually inventive death lol). Im also a fan of the whole anthology concept, if its done well of course. Loved some of the older efforts, tales from the crypt, tales from the darkside to name a few. Many recent efforts just dont cut it (there are a few exceptions to the rule though).

  I actually like the first Cabin Fever, not the most original but it's a pretty good horror. The sequels however were terrible, the second was awful with some horrible acting and the third one (Patient Zero) was i think a prequel but it was really hard to pin down when it was supposed to actually take place. The remake though is odd, it was successful but not that successful so hardly a guaranteed hit of an idea.

  I cant recall a single thing about number 2 in the series (must have been great then lol). The first was pretty good if memory serves (didnt it have that kiddie in it who appeared in that boy meets world tv show back in the day). I didnt hate the 3rd film but very much forgettable other than for some of the more inventive deaths (especially the one involving That toy..you know the one im talking about jesslloydfan, gotta remember that one).

  Honestly pretty much all of 2 and 3 is a blur, didn't make much of an impression at all.
  
  Anyway, found some new horror films, i make no guarantee that any of these will actually be good or that even the trailers will be good lol.
  
  The Girl in the cornfield
  
  Looks very low budget, but that's not necessarily a bad thing could be decent. Doesn't look particularly original mind.
  
  Patient Seven
  
  No idea what this is about, it gives nothing away. I assume it's set in a nut house and it's got Michael Ironside in it, So i imagine he'll probably lose an arm or something in it. Seems to in every film he's in.
  
  Attack of the Lederhosen zombies
  
  It has zombies, and it looks batshit mental.

  Will get round to checking out these latest horror movie trailers asap (thanks for posting as always..loving the sound of Attack of Lederhoen zombies..sounds awesome, gotta be with a name like that). Was checking out the download sites and both Southbound and Cabin Fever remake are available. I have downloaded Southbound and will check it out asap. I wont be downloading the Cabin remake though. I know you can only tell so much by others reviews but no one has been kind to it, not at all. Its meant to be bloody awful (and im not talking in a horror / gore kinda way). Perhaps when it appears on sky as to be honest, with the reviews i have seen, cant even be bothered to download or stream it.
