I've been hearing about Louis Theroux’s Scientology movie for bloody ages now and although there has been a few teasers, it feels like the actually documentary is taking forever. Just as I had given up all hope, the official trailer has finally been released and the movie looks sensational.
In true Theroux fashion, Louis puts himself in some seriously dangerous situations as he sets out to expose the sinister truth about the freaky ***** that is Scientology.
Louis explains what inspired him to make the movie - "I’d seen an explanation of why people wanted to leave Scientology, but I hadn’t got a sense of why they joined. I was interested in the seduction, why they would go along with the various practices that had been alleged for years, if not decades. The film is an attempt to create that mindset of being conditioned in behaviours outside of the norm.”
If you love hard hitting documentaries then I'd also recommend Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief. It's a fascinating yet very dark movie but definitely worth a watch.

Going Clear was an awesome watch. I'd totally recommend watching that before the Louis doco as it will give you some knowledge of some of the people mentioned in the Louis one. Can't wait for this.
Might have to watch Louis' doco on Jimmy Saville again too. It really details what an odd little cretin he was. -

It was a lot darker than I thought it would be but it was fascinating. I wanted to shake those fucking morons for believing that shit. -

Seen a previous documentary on Scientology and the insanity of that ***** is scary. The way they encourage family members and friends to turn against anyone leaving is twisted, and why anyone buys into that is ridiculous (the founder was literally a sci-fI author, his ***** is one of his made up stories).
Out of curiosity I'll probably check this out. -

I couldn't agree with you more but the reason people are so sceptical is because this nonsense was made up in our modern day. Just because the bible and other holy scriptures were written so long ago does not mean that they aren't made up. Just look at this...

Oh I feel the same way about all religion, at best it's morality tales to teach people things they should know not to do anyway. Plus any religions that offer forgiveness on your deathbed regardless of what you did is complete bullsh*t anyway. Technically as far as the bible goes every person came from two people who only had two sons (you can just hear the banjo playing there).
But Scientology doesn't even hide its fictional nature, the guy behind it was a sci-fI author and most of the rules you hear they follow are weird at best, or just downright insane.
