  I haven't played XII or XIII mainly because of the changes to the battle system. I am a big Final Fantasy fan and have played all of them except those two. I agree with dVIOUS and really hope that they bring back the turn based combat of the old games which allowed for more strategic fights and levelling.

  one of the gayest games i have ever seen in my life, i dont get how it was so popular it was absolutely shit and it looked absolutely shit, they shouldnt make a new one for the ps3 or the xbox

  I love final fantasy 7 it was one of the best ones and I might have to visit the play station store to see if it's still on there.
  Have any of you played final fantasy 6 I think it was brought out a couple of years ago and I tried to play it and just couldn't stop laughing at the graphics

  final fantasy vii has got to be the best out of all just because of it's epic story and the length of teh game and it is the only one i have played twice around as it is great you should have a go wont be dissapointed !

  Are you kidding about 6, you stopped playing one of the greatest rpg's ever made because it had basic graphics?! See that's the trouble, the series has become so much about graphical spectacle, and people lap that up!

  it is true though that the final fantasy series is kind of gay lol. i mean it has great gameplay etc i played 8 moslty haven't played ones before or since but i know some of those games are outstanding, but have you seen the trailer for the new one. i saw it in one of those youtube adverts - it looks like a graphic novel for 13 year old girls with some celine dion type sounding sountrack. and all the games have really awful cheesy shit in them like that. it's a great game series but not exactly what you would call a man's game

  Yeah i saw that trailer, it is really bad isn't it, it doesn't even show any of the game or tell any of the story or anything, just plays that really cheesy song, it generally is a bad trailer, doesn't sell the game well to me at all lol.

  Well with me being keen on the graphics getting better I just couldn't get into final fantasy 6 I tried but it kept making me get bored and lose patience with it do wasn't to fond of it

  That makes me sad, the game was phenomenal, a real triumph even by todays standards. Has anyone played xiii-2 yet? I'm a bit dubious, I liked xiii a lot, despite it's flaws. But x-2 was such a travesty that it's hard to see this one not going the same way, any opinions?

  Well, to add to what I sad previously the reviews of 13-2 are all very good, so I think I'll pick it up sometime soon. I liked the battle system. It was fast paced and very different to the older games, but it was just strategic in a different way, instead of taking time to meticulously plan each characters moves, you took more of an overview of the battle, meticulously planning team members roles instead. Just as challenging.
