The Walking Dead spin-off and prequel, set in Los Angeles, follows new characters as they face the beginning of the end of the world. I was totally obsessed with The Walking dead so I'm pretty darn excited by this.

Being a fan of The Walking Dead imagine how thrilled i was to discover that Fear the Walking Dead will premiere in the uk shortly when new channel AMC Global launches. Wonder whet channel number that corresponds to on Sky..WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN ITS NOT ON SKY. Turns out the channel will be exclusive on BT TV for now. Oh fuck no, that aint happening. Already downloaded on the dodge. Take that AMC Global and most importantly, take that BT TV. Will watch in a bit and post my critique at the weekend.

Well, i have given the pilot episode of this a look and too be honest, at this early stage, not happy. Supposedly this had the single largest pilot episode viewing figures in ustv history, its a spin off of a fantastic long established show..what could possibly go wrong. To be fair, its not fair of me to judge the last 10 - 15 mins of the pilot episode as i didnt get that far, fell asleep through boredom at that point. Its not even down to the lack of gore at this stage, its the drippy characters that bored me. Atleast in The Wlking Dad the characters are so strong that you want them to keep on going. I couldnt care less at this early stage if all the current cast on ftwd wind up getting bit. Unimaginative and just out and out dull. Will stick with it out of curiosity.

I think spin offs can also be a wee bit dangerous, established characters that work are hard to get away from. I love the walking dead, but think sometimes its really too slow and a little hard to watch, So I think this will be the same. There will be parts were it's great and then times its just really slow. I'll definitely give it a watch like

Having now watched the second episode, i dont know, theres something there. Its not as aparent as the main show and the spin off, unlike TWD, is definatly more character driven at the moment. The basic premise without spoilers is that although its at the start of things coming apart, it seemingly happens quite gradually in the sense that many dont even realise whats going on around them (and understandably that comes back to bite them in the ass..quite literally). Season 1 is only a 6 episode season so will ride it out and decide from there if im gonna return for season 2.
