  Lads, it's a Harry Potter spin-off!
  
  I'll give you a moment to compose yourselves...
  
  Right then, it's set around 70 years before events in the original Harry Potter books, and stars Eddie Redmayne as a young British wizard called Newt Scamander (the die-hards will know all about him).  The script, written by none other than JK Rowling herself, finds Scamander getting in to a spot of bother over in that America, New York to be precise.  Their wizarding isn't like British wizarding, you see...

  im surprised i havent even seen a harry potter movie before, because i like super powers and good graphics, but i will probably end up watching this spin off before i even watch harry potter because i liked the look of this

  I've only seen bits of the movies and not read the books but I do agree with you about this one.  Not only that, below is the final trailer before it hits the "Silver Screen"

  While im a fan of the Harry Potter films and im confident this prequel of sorts will be both great and profitable for the big wigs at Warner, despite seeing all the trailers to date i can bring myself to want to go to the cinema to see this. Whereas i went to see all the Harry Potter films at the cinema theres just soomething that puts me off a little about this one. Perhaps its the era / regular town setting as opposed to be being set at Hogwarts etc...Will certainly give it a look on home release though.

  Managed to get hold of this earlier today and decided it would be perfect fodder for something to watch while having dinner. Verdict : while i really enjoyed the Harry Potter films, so much so i purchased all of them on dvd, this prequel im gonna keep but not purchase the original. While i enjoyed the film and the scenes involving the beasts themselves (responsible for the bulk of the comedic elements in the film) and the effects were really good, the human performances were lacking something and certainly didnt have that spark that the performances in the HP movies had. I also wasnt a fan of the setting or the time period, really took away from the whole thing for me. Again though, the film was a fun ride..but a pretty forgettable one.

  yeah i noticed that the effects was looking really good that is what makes me want to watch it, and i will probably watch it tonight or tomorrow night if i can find it online

  Did you manage to find the film, Dony? What did you think? ep, for me, the creature effects and some of the comedic moments directly involving them made up the best elements of the movie for me..for me it was the people who let the film down by comparison (what with Colin Farrell..well..playing his role exactly as he seems to play eachh and evvery role he gets haha). Really hped this was going to be fantastic, but can barely warrent more than a very good.
