If you've ever been or know someone who has been a victim of revenge porn, you'll know what a humiliating and life-shattering ordeal it can be. While there are laws out there to deter people, it's not enough to stop those truly spiteful fuckers out there. But Facebook seem to think they have the solution to stop people from upoading revenge porn - send them your nudes instead!
So I know this sounds totally mental - sending random strangers your private pic, but hear them out. Facebook has spent the last few years working with other large tech firms to build software that can identify problem images the second they hit the net, and flag and remove them without the need for human intervention. The scheme has already been tested in Australia, will be tested in the UK from this week. The system works by creating a digital fingerprint of an image or video, which can then be compared to future uploads to find matches and remove them automatically. It's so advanced that it doesn’t get fooled by alterations such as colour tweaks, watermarks or crops, and it has already successfully been put to use in tackling terrorist propaganda posted online.
I mean yeah, it's a good idea in theory but do I really want to be uploading my own private images?! Facebook have assured us that only a team of five trained specialists will see the pictures, but all it takes is one pervy 'specialist' to email it to himself and then he and his mates are laughing at a photo of your gaping asshole. There’s also the scary chance that once you send that picture to Facebook, they then own that image. Zuckerberg is hardly a saint when it comes to tinkering with data. I think i'll just keep my pussy pics to myself cheers. Although everyone's seen mine anyway. I'd be more worried about people seeing pics of me without my eyebrows pencilled on. Just be careful out there folks, you don't want a dude like this sharing your privates with the world:
Seriously, WTF is he?! Who the fuck would send him a pussy pic in the first place?!
