FA CUP

Hi guys, thought I'd start a thread about the FA Cup in general as the 4th round has been played over this weekend. As a kid the FA Cup was huge but seems to have diminished quite a bit over recent years with big teams (especially this year) favouring the League Cup and using it as a springboard for the rest of the season. I'm a United fan and its a cup we've done well in over the years but I always find it mind-blowing when Premier League teams especially those in no danger of relegation and no European ambition play weakened teams. I know a weakened premier league team with the depth of most PL squads have nowadays should be able to cope with playing a lower tier side but I'm of the opinion that football clubs should aim to win trophies because nobody remembers who finishes mid-table every year. For example when Wigan won the cup they ended up being relegated and ultimately cost them millions and millions of pounds but that trip to Wembley was so special for the fans. Clubs should show more ambition and desire to win trophies with both cups really up for grabs.
I'm also interested in everyone else's opinion,no matter what team you support would you want your team to go for it more in the cups or focus on the league and has the FA Cup still got its magic or is it just a distraction from the main focus, the league? -

Love a good bit of FA Cup action, it's always good seeing the upsets that happen as long as the team being upset isn't Chelsea lol. I don't tend to watch it before the Premier league teams are in it though so once we get to the third round, will be looking forward to the draw. -

Barnet vs MK Dons will be the only match of interest for me, played for Barnet years ago back in the day so I always root for them although i'm not an actual fan. FA cup will well contested this year as it's gonna be the only chance at silverware for many top teams who are looking unlikely for top 4 -

okay cool for me it would be Plymouth Argyle vs Lincoln City as two top team in league one to be a good match and the championship and premiership still one more round away and that's cool and I suppose even if you played for them doesn't make you fan lol in least you you got some connection there and some of the fans might remember you. Yeah I think could a low team in the premiership could this win it this season but only if they take it seriously has too many teams put out weak squad's lets down the cup leaves it for a small team. -

I didn't play for the professionally I should clarify. Was back as a youth when i was with them so fans wouldn't have any recollection of me sadly haha. I wonder when fans will be back in stadiums, hopefully towards the latter end so the finals can be attended. -

ah ok I wasn't sure got yea, sad but everyone wants to make it into the main squad so many footballers lol I think everyone of to professionally.
not really sure I was talking to someone about that the other week who bought season tickets because they thought they would be back in stadiums by October they weren't interested in the online matches, they got no hope in till next season, but don't think they will be buying on the one as they think it's a waste on money till you can got back in full time. They got the online working but had trouble using it and keep double paying for a match they already paid for they gave up on football really. I would say next season but could be pushing it. -

They were saying that there should be getting bums in seats come December but thats definitely not gonna happen. February - March i;m sure we'll be seeing the return of fans, I do however think they've been doing a great job with the artificial crowd noises, very convincing if you ask me.
