The tournament will be staged across Europe to celebrate some sort of UEFA anniversary and Wembley has just been awarded the final and both semis.

The only other venue in the running was Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena so it doesn't come as too much of a shock. Nice ground, but it is lagging by 30,000 or so seats when it comes to capacity.

It's not all sunshine and lollipops, mind. We'll more than likely have to endure another updated version of this.




FA chairman Greg Dyke is also talking about bidding for the entire 2028 competition. He reckons, probably with good reason, that we'll have more joy convincing UEFA than *cough*bent*cough* FIFA.

Yeah but we had the full Euro's only recently. I really, really want to see a world cup here. Still can't believe Russia of all places got it over us. Fucking money.

Haven't the FA said they won't bid at all for any FIFA events while a Blatter is in charge.

I remember hearing also, that we are going to support the Germans in bidding for 2024 and in turn they will support our bid in 2028.

As for the next world cups, Qatar and Russia! If proof that fifa is corrupt was ever needed, surely that's it.

I believe fifa want each continent to take turns in hosting a World Cup so we won't get it before the 2038 tournament.

Russia getting 2018 over us shocked me more than Qatar did, our bid was sublime. We had literally everything going for us, we even had a bloody prince lead our presentation for fuck sake! The Russians have a really bad hooligan problem, racism & homophobia is rife, terrible transportation system, shite stadia etc etc. But it's ok, they've got monies!

Well that's that. Goons says hosting the World Cup is pointless. Best go tell all those governments to stop wasting their time & money. Let's just cancel the tournament altogether while we're at it, no one will bother going to the games after all!
