ENGLAND V INDIA: THIRD TEST (SOUTHAMPTON)
StrumSolo > 30/07/2014, 16:35
569-7 declared in the first innings and England have just called a halt to their second on 205-4, a score that included a 70 not-out for Alastair Cook.
That's 165 altogether for the match and with England going well all that fuss over whether or not he should resign seems quite a while ago now...
But I digress, run chase! India were set a target of 445 with a minimum 132 overs (or just over a day) in which to get them. They're 12 overs in now and have already lost Vijay, run out by Broad on 12.
And there goes Pujara for just 2. Bowled by Moeen, caught by Jordan and the tourists are 33-2 all told.
First test win in 11 then?

All done for today at the Rose Bowl. India rallied for a bit after losing those two early wickets, but two more fell in the last hour (Dhawan for 37 and Kohli for 28) and they finish the day 112-4.
A full day for England tomorrow to get the six wickets they need for the win, should be real do-able, by lunch even. -

This test really couldnt have gone much better for england (so far) Cook and Bell got the runs they've been lacking and Anderson and broad looked more dangerous with the ball. A good start for Butler as well, both with the bat and behind the wicket. -

Six wickets before lunch and the afternoon off, it's been a real good day at the office for England.
India started the day 112-4 needing another 333 for the win. They only managed another 66 though, 178 all out with the England attack rattling through the remaining batsmen. Rahane managed to dig in and finish 52 not out but the only other to reach double figures in the morning session was Jadeja with 15.
Man of the innings was undoubtedly Mooen Ali, he took the last four wickets and finished with figures of 6-67!
So does this mean we're good again now?
