ENGLAND V INDIA: FOURTH TEST (OLD TRAFFORD)
StrumSolo > 08/08/2014, 10:29
What a day! India won the toss and decided to bat, probably shouldn't have.
All out for 152 inside 47 overs. Dhoni was the top scorer on 71, while Ashwin and Rahane didn't disgrace themselves with 40 and 24 respectively. Other than that though, no-one else reached double figures, and there were six ducks! 3-46 for Jimmy Anderson but most impressively, Stuart Broad, 6-25!
That meant England had time for 35 overs themselves and they finished the day on a relatively strong 113-3. Just 17 for Cook and 6 for Robson, but Gary Ballance made 37 before being caught lbw. Bell (45) and Jordan (0) will resume at the crease shortly.
Looking good, might even take a series lead if we're not careful.

Lunch at Old Trafford and England are 201-6. Bell only managed to add 13 runs to his overnight total before being caught by Dhoni on 58, whilst Jordan and Moeen managed just 13 each in total.
So three wickets gone for just 88 runs, and the home side currently have a lead of 49. Another hundred or so this afternoon should settle the nerves. -

Great day for England today and without Broad bowling as well. Another good innings for Butler and Ali taking wickets again. Massive improvement from just a couple of tests ago, shows the importance of confidence.
