We've all been thinking it, but now it's official. Our group is a bastard, in fact the toughest of them all.
FIFA have just released their latest world rankings and England have moved up one place to 10th. That makes Group D, with Uruguay ranked 7th and Italy 9th, the only one with three teams inside the top ten. Even Costa Rica (28th) are a relatively strong for a 'whipping boy'.
At the other end of the scale, Argentina could probably play the corpses of Che Guevara and Evita Duarte Perón at centre half and still walk Group F. Unfair.
In full (rankings in brackets):
Group A: Brazil (3), Cameroon (56), Croatia (18), Mexico (20). Total 97.
Group B: Australia (62), Chile (14), Netherlands (15), Spain (1). Total 92.
Group C: Colombia (8), Greece (12), Ivory Coast (23), Japan (46). Total 89.
Group D: Costa Rica (28), England (10), Italy (9), Uruguay (7). Total 54.
Group E: Ecuador (26), France (17), Honduras (33), Switzerland (6). Total 82.
Group F: Argentina (5), Bosnia-Herzegovina (21), Iran (43), Nigeria (44). Total 113.
Group G: Germany (2), Ghana (37), Portugal (4), USA (13). Total 56.
Group H: Algeria (22), Belgium (11), Russia (19), South Korea (57). Total 109.
So if we do go out, and some hilarious Scot (Outlaw) decides to start taking the piss, keep this in mind. -

To be fair to the Scottish, their group is even harder.
That Argentina group though, they are probably already celebrating making it out of the group stage.
I can't see England making it out of the groups, completely lost faith in the over the last gazzillion years. Fingers crossed though eh -

It is a tough one, but it will all be down to the Italy, hate to say it but if we lose , I think were done. So with that in mind , I hope the lads go all out attack , nothing to lose -

I think title of the thread sums it up pretty well, tough group and could end up with 0 points. Wierd how england couldn't manage a point against Italy or Uruguay yet costa Rica have 6. Can't see many people predicting that, or them getting 9 and England 0 if they win. -

What should we do for the costa rica game or if your robbie savage chile do . I say give all the squad ago forster in goal smalling jones cb luke shaw lb whoever is our back up rb midfeild start barkley lallahna and lampard and lambert up top sterling off lambert why the hell not -

Nah, Hodgson's gonna want to go home with at least one win, I don't think much will change to be honest. If there are changes I think we'll see three at the most -

Would I do such a thing???, yeah probably, England rely on Gerrard, Rooney & Hart too much, since they're already out they should give Forster a chance in goal, he's been a wall for Celtic, Wilshere & Lambert should have played more for sure
Now I know they're only really proven in Scotland, but two players wo i'd like to see given a chance are Nicky Law & Tom Hateley (son of true LEGEND Mark Hateley) -

I think forster is quality, but he's only 3rd choice for Hodgson for some reason, so I doubt he'll play. I think shaw, barkley and Chamberlain(if he's fit) should all start.
