England fans enjoy a beer or two prior to kick-offEFL chief executive Shaun Harvey wants to lift the long-established ban on supporters drinking alcohol in the stands.Football fans in England and Wales are forbidden to drink alcohol within view of the pitch under laws passed in 1985.But with hooliganism no longer a major issue in the domestic game, Harvey believes it is time to relax the ban."To have a blanket ban remaining in 2018 is, in our view, disproportionate to today's level of risk," he said.

And the fans have really missed it talk about throwing a red rag to a bull.

Good result last night , not only did we not get relegated we won the group lol!

I didn’t think the nations league was a good idea , however the pace the game was played at was a much better than some random friendly against some second rate side ! USA anyone ?

Still seems a bit Mickey Mouse, but you can only judge how serious a tournament is in hindsight I think. Like, was anyone actually arsed when Uruguay won the first World Cup?

Still got qualifiers for European Championships to start next year! Seems that instead of less football our players will get more. Means more international breaks and less premier league games to fill my Saturday's! Oh well guess it benefits Brighton having international players think it is in double figures or near to it. Think Dunk had a great game against USA stats were good and yes it was meaningless but we have all had something we regard meaningless in our lives!

The Nations League group stage is complete.

So, joining us in Portugal next summer for the prestigious finals of this most major of tournaments will be;

Portugal
Netherlands
Switzerland

The draw to decide who faces who in the semis will take place December 3rd, with the games being played between the 5th and 9th of June 2019.

No Spain, no Germany, no France. I think it might be opening up for us here, lads...

Think all England fans would rather play Switzerland, maybe at a pinch the Netherlands as they are as hit and miss as us. Even with Portugal so reliant on Ronaldo they do have have the odd player that might make a difference. Anyway we are there so who really cares who we get!
