Dude steals £1,500 worth of scratchcards to get out of debt - wins nothing!

A dude over in Scotland was so desperate after getting himself into crippling debt that he decided to steal £1,500 worth of National Lottery scratchcards from the shop where he worked. But won absolutely nothing! 



28-year-old Andrew Lochrie, nicked scratchcards in hopes of clearing his debts, but unfortunately for him, there wasn’t one single winning ticket. In fact, he’s now in even more debt because he has to pay back the Co-op the £1,500 worth of tickets he robbed. Unlucky! Here’s what Andrew’s lawyer, Edel McGinty, had to say: 
 

None of the scratchcards yielded anything. There was an investigation within the workplace and he made full and frank admissions to his employers.He is filled with shame and regret. It is not lost on Mr Lochrie that he was in a position of trust. This was an act of desperation at a desperate time.

 


Sheriff Andrew McIntyre later said: 
 

That is a lesson in itself that £1,500 worth of scratchcards didn’t yield anything.

 
Jesus, if anyone’s a thief here, it’s the fucking National Lottery. You would think he would have scratched a few 2-quid wins at least. Now Andrew Lochrie has to pay back the money and also complete 200 hours of unpaid work within nine months. Gutted!
