Dude opens up WWI bomb he found in the river
What would you do if you found an old discarded bomb?! Call the experts? Run away? Open it? I think we all know what the correct thing to do would be - to open it up of course! At least that's what this doofus did.
19-year-old Normunds from Latvia was fishing with his dad and uncle in the river when they noticed a metal container, so naturally they were curious as to what it was. So they fished it out, cracked it open and discovered a load of fucking TNT. It's like a freakin Wile.E Coyote and Roadrunner skit. Normunds, obviously a bit shaken up by his findings, then just leaves that shit wide open and walks away without so much as a quick phone call to the police. Speaking to UNILAD, Normunds explained how they found it: Quote:My uncle went fishing and found this weird object that was super heavy and he didn’t know what it was. So the next day me, my uncle and my dad went there with a car through fields and bad roads until we reached the spot in Daugava river. We found it near city Daugavpils. We took a look at it and couldn’t figure out what it was. Wow. How fucktared can you be?! While Normunds and his uncle were scooping out all the explosive materials with their bare hands hands, they found an article on google that showed the exact bomb they had found. The news article said it was a dangerous sea mine from 1877 that was used in the First World War. After they took out all the innards from the bomb, they dried it off and burned it. Yeah, burn explovise materials. That's a really fucking good idea. One commenter on Reddit was proper horrified: Quote:Dude, that is the chemical centre for a sea mine that will explode if set off by any primer. Get the hell away and call the police. However, Normunds reckons he knew what he was doing: Quote:It was only dangerous when all of that thing was inside, we could’ve blown ourselves up when we removed the primer, but it wasn’t dry enough at the top, the inside pieces were in better condition. Only once we opened it, dad recognised the pressed gun cotton aka TNT and because of the cables of course. Damn. They're lucky they didn't blow themselves to pieces. If you're wondering what happened to the shell of the bomb, it's now an epic garden feature in the uncles garden. At least it's got a cool story behind it. Follow me on Twitter: @ReedeFox |
