  Whilst the idea of such a renouned, notorious being given the remake treatment didn't exactly suprise (after all, pretty much every classic seems ripe for a remake nowadays), my initial perception of a 'Death Wish' remake was that it was gonna suck..like the majority of remakes do. What i wasn't expecting, on giving the film a looksee last night, was that despite the critics not exactly showing this a lot of love..it actually managed to be pretty enjoyable. No need to explain the story but suffice to say that Bruce Willis as the films vigilante hero does a pretty reputable job adopting the lead role. Granted this remake has been watered down in terms of the graphic events that lead to him goin all vigilante. Fortunately though there plenty of action, violence and a spattering of gore to be had throughout the rest of the film. Whilst it won't trouble the status of the original, as popcorn fodder goes you could certainly do a heck of a lot worse (despite his either brother or broter in law, despite appearing frequently, being completely surplus to requirements).

  i got death wish 1, 2 ,3 on video tape lol my dad had em all so i watched them, and really like all of them, i think bruce willis will do a good job to im watching this asap

  I'll probably end up watching that despite growing a bit tired of Bruce Willis by this point. However, there was a Death Wish remake many years ago that didn't have the same name and I loved it. If you've not seen Death Sentence then I suggest you check it out. It was directed by James Wan who at the time directed some of the Saw franchise and has more recently moved on to horrors such as The Conjuring and Annabelle.

  yeah i get u on the bruce willis thing alot of his movies after die hard 4 have been proper shit, but he still a good actor i think, and i will check out death sentence i dont think i seen that

  Yeah, FantasticMr..i certainly do remember 'Death Sentance' after all..it starred the god that is Kevin Bacon after all. Was vpretty darn good if memory serves (details are a smidge sketchy though..must mean its ripe for a rewatch). Im usually the first to jump on the 'hate the remake' bandwagon however this actually turned out to be pretty sound (and certainly the best thing ol' Brucie has appeared in, well, in recent years certainly).

  I wonder why they felt the need to remake Death Wish, since its release there has been numerous films with very similar plots, like FantasticMr posted in Death Sentence (which was close to a remake in all but name). Plus they made about 6 sequels to Death Wish, and i'm guessing by the end he was just shooting people because they looked at him funny. So remaking it seems like it was complete unneccesary.

  Were there 6 original 'Death Wish' movies feat ol' Bronsan himself..yikes. I certainly watchedthe 1st one..could'nt tell you a single thing about any ofthe slew of sequels though. Granted the film may not have needed a remake, jesslloydfan..but when did that everr stop movie bosses or individuals pitching ideas with a complete lack of original thought. It's far easier after all for them to copy and paste and tweak ever so slightly lol. In all fairness though, asides from his brother in the film being completely pointless, it's actually pretty good (bout time ol' Bruce was in something good again..was becoming worried for him).

  I’m honestly guessing in the exact number, there’s was at least five of them. I may have miscounted and there may not be a 6th. Point still stands though, that what was he getting revenge for by film 5? Either he’d become petty as hell and punished minor slights with extreme violence, or he was a trouble magnet people should have avoided.

  Perhaps come the final instalment in the original 'Death Wish' series of movies, ol Bronson was getting revenge for..being cast in a seemingly never ending line of follow ups for one film lol. Honestly can't see the reboot going down the same route, or to the same drawnout extent anyways. Perhaps the will be a single follow up but would be amazed if it tried pushing things beyond that.
