No one can be "cancelled", they can only be made to suffer the consequences of their actions. Freedom of speech is not a freedom from those words having an adverse effect. I'm a massive fan of Chappelle, but as a Black man that has suffered from discrimination he should know that targeting a marginalised group will incur more public hatred towards them. He's a smart comedian and can create better jokes than his current material. As he proved when he did The Chappelle Show and his other stand up comedy specials. Hopefully he learns from this situation and moves onto creating more legendary socio-political jokes that targets the real perpetrators of the world's ills.
