In: Dwight Gayle (Peterborough, £6m), Jose Campana (Sevilla, £1.75m), Stephen Dobie (Brighton, £850,000), Elliot Grandin (Blackpool, Free), Jerome Thomas (West Brom, Free), Kevin Phillips (Blackpool, Free), Marouane Chamakh (Arsenal, Undisclosed).
Out: Alex Marrow (Blackburn, Undisclosed), Jermaine Easter (Millwall, Free), Andre Moritz (Bolton, Free).
Prediction: 18th
I got annoyed with the Ian Holloway comedy routine halfway through the season Blackpool got relegated, but he did well to push them so close to survival, and getting Palace promoted last year was equally as impressive.
Looking at their signings so far, it could probably go either way. There’s potential there but not too much in the way of Premier League level experience. They might prove me wrong, but I think they’ll just about fall short. Should be some laughs along the way though eh? -

crstal palace are one of my picks for relegation this season. i just don't see how they are gonna get the points needed to stay up. they don'y have much quality in their team. -

Palace have called a press conference for 17:30 this evening, where it's expected that Ian Holloway will announce his departure from the club.
The Eagles have won just one game so far this season, most recently losing 4-1 at home to Fulham. They currently sit 19th in the table with 3 points, 5 adrift of 17th and safety.
Should he have been given more time? He did well to get them up of course, but on the other hand they were top of the Championship when he took over, and ended up only just scraping a play-off place. The transfer activity over the summer wasn't amazing either...
Neil Warnock and Tony Pulis are the early favourites to take over. Could they do any better? -

Yeah I think it is an inevitable outcome and the mutual consent is better for both parties. His record as shown above was not great and Palace need perhaps a Warnock type in there. Holloway is also left more marketable than if he was sacked. -

Fair play to him for holding his hands up and saying he wasn't up to it. Plenty would have waited to be sacked and trousered a nice pay-off.
Tony Pulis is 8/13 to take over now, and Holloway and the chairman have both spoken in favour of him. Better than Warnock I suppose but it's hardly inspired is it? -

Well it looks likely to Tony Pulis who takes on the vacant Crystal Palace job. What do the Palace fans think of him? My personal opinion is that he plays solid football, but not necessarily pleasing on the eye. Maybe thats just what Crystal Palace need right now, a bit of a structure. -

I was once at a dinner where Holloway spoke, surprisingly he was witty and really quite astute. He received a standing ovation.
As a motivational speaker he is very impressive. Which is probably why he has taken two very crap teams into the premierleague.
Give him 3 months free vip on Rampant, the Empire was built on the backs of the likes of Holloway - HUZZAH !! -

Hahaha, to be fair I always though Holloway spoke sense. He does seem a bit of a character but he does seem quite respectful in the way he talks, in comparison to some of the managers in the Premier League. Im sure he will slot into a championship team and get them up this season
