  Oh its beginning to look a lot like christmas..iu say this as screener season has arrived and, oh boy, there have been some absolute belters made available. The first i have watched is Creed - the new rocky film. Has anyone else seen it? What did you think? Keeping it basic the film revolves around Apollo Creeds grown up son and Rocky training him. Anything more than that would be a spoiler so will leave that description there. Verdict - I really enjoyed it. Yeah, it takes a while to find its feet and yeah the female lead in the film is not a patch on Adriane from the original films and the fight scenes dont have quite the same thrill factor (largely down to the fact that the inevitable end opponent is not on par with creed, mr t or drago). Still, this is a very solid installment, thrilling in places, copycat in others but all in all a pretty exciting and enjoyable ride.

  Yes cant wait to watch this movie i'm hitting the cinema to watch it tonight. I love a good boxing movie and I saw onliune that Michael B Jordan got knocked out by the british boxer Tony Bellew durin filming for the movie which is pretty cool, no soft acting here

  Thanks for the info, Jackdalad. Not being a follower of boxing i was not aware that 'Pretty' Ricky Conlan (in the film ) was played by Tony Bellew who is infact a real champion boxer. His general lack of charisma on screen can be forgiven then as not an actor by trade. He does do a sound enough job but is not on par with the classic Rocky villians i mentioned above. I hope you enjoyed the film.

  Watched this film the other day, highly recommend, there is one fight scene that apparently was shot in one take which was pretty cool
  
  Michael B Jordan wiped off the stink that fantastic four left on him that film was terrible lol, Sly best performance in a long time too!

  Glad you enjoyed Creed, SirWanksAlot86. You know i had completely forgotten about Michael B Jordan being in the sub standard Fantastic Four reboot. He has certainly redeemed himself here. Sly does put in a good turn in this one although im still critical of the opponents in this one. For me they paled in comparrison to the charisma, menace or stature of the opponents in the previous films.

  because i think this was a good starting point, i liked this in comparison to the first rocky, as it showed the heart which is probably what drawn alot of people to the movie, the heart of the character that draws you in.
  
  i always liked Michael B Jordan, he stared in the 4th and 5th Season of my favourite show Friday Night Lights.

  Its a testament to his character in the film that he starts as bit of a douche and under rocky's training has a turnaround. He does do a bang up up job. Other than Fantastic Four i wasnt aware of the guy. Suppose theres 2 schools of thought when it comes to comparrisons to the original Rocky. While some may commend the heart the film displays others may argue that original ideas were in short supply so why not just copy certain elements. While i enjoyed Jordans and Stallones performances, the female of the piece and the obligitary big bad were, for me, in no way shape or form a patch on what came before (especially in installments 1 through 4).
