Got arouund to checking out the new Disney/Pixar offering 'Coco' a few days ago. Has anyone else seen this yet? What did you think? Ok, granted upon hearing the films themes , synopsis and that there was gonna be ample amounts of mariachi music throughout (has its fans and plenty of..not really my cuppa though), wasn't originally gonna bother with this. Cropped up as being avail;able and there was nothing else too watch so decided "why the hell not?"..actually wound up kinda enjoying the film. Certainly far less cutesy than many of pixars offerings to date the film tells of young musician Miguel, confronted with his families ancestral ban on music, enters the land of the dead to find his great grandfather, a former legendary musician. The animation in this is pretty top notch, with the story moving at a brisk pace, occassional sputterings of humour (mostly down to the ntics of the spirit animals) and whilst predictible, a finalle thats bound to aving many eiither sobbing or cheering..this is a very solid offering from Disney/Pixar. Only critiscism..compared to previous releases by Disney/Pixar, the songs in this, not the music so much but the actual songs, dont really cut it (thats only a niggle though).
