champions league moved

unbelievably the powers that be have actually made a good decision. in the midst of a pandemic they have moved the champions league final from a country which is currently suffering. but more predictably they have made a completely unfathomable decision. yes they have moved the final. the all english final. but they have moved it to Portugal . PORTUGAL ! does that make sense to anyone ? do i even have to suggest a country which would have been better ? what are these clowns doing ?

I believe there was an issue with the travel restrictions on people coming in to the UK. Would have made it difficult for UEFA to fly all their sponsors over.
Good to see they've got their priorities straight eh? -

I wish I could say you were being cynical there Scotty but I think there may be an element of truth. plus the sponsors would rather have the sun of Portugal than the grey skies of the UK.
The real thing though is this decision was made BEFORE that the decision was made for people from the UK to visit Portugal. so at an all English final at the time of decision making they were happy to have no English fans. Crazy. I think eufa were jealous of Fifa with their decision to have the world cup in Qatar in the summer and just wanted to make as bad a decision as possible to compete.

I thought it would make more sense picking the UK who is jabbed a lot more people than Portugal but that's greed for you, I think they must have offered them a better deal. But you can let two many fan in a stadium when you got a lot of things still shut but hopefully it all works out okay. But now the Fans got a little travelling to do now. -

yes the fans got a little travelling to do, they can get tested in and out but in the airport they are still mixing with people, it is far more risky for them and for anyone they encounter either on their journey or on their return than it would have been if they had been made to travel from their grounds in club arranged half full coaches, they are allowing a number of fans into wembley today that could have been a rehearsal for the staff there to sort out a good method to keep people safe, Portugal makes no sense at all.
