  Werder Bremen captain Aaron Hunt denied his own team a penalty against German rivals Nuremberg - by admitting to the referee that he had not been fouled.
  
  Hunt tumbled under a challenge from home defender Javier Pinola as Werder led 2-0 in Saturday's Bundesliga clash.
  
  Referee Manuel Graefe pointed to the spot before the midfielder asked him to reverse the 75th-minute decision.

  Hats off to him for owning up straight away and also a mention should go to the ref for changing his decision. You guys think we will see more players owning up now?

  Yeah the robbie fowler one came to my mind. I would have thought the ref would have dismissed any arguments and stick to his decisions. So fair play to the ref. Still dont see any PL refs making a decision based on what the player says

  Haha well Gary Neville seemed to think otherwise, in regards to the Sturridge penalty. It was a dive but still a reckless challenge by vidic which gave sturridge the oppurtunity.

  Neville was on a mare all game. There is no way you can justify a dive by the defender not being abke to reach the ball. What would you rather your defenders do? Try and win the ball or stand off and let the striker shoot? Vidic did nothing wrong

  I agree mate, if it happened to liverpool then they would all be livid as well. If it carries on like this then players will think twice before making a tackle, thus conceding more goals

  Well well well a costly mistake made by the ref in the Chelsea v Arsenal match earlier today. Despite Oxlade-Chamberlain owning up to it, the ref still decides to send off Gibbs. So it goes to show that the English refs like to stick to their decisions despite the offending players owning up.
