Brit cruises exposed as being a hotbed for sex, drugs and violence
I always thought cruises were for old ladies or couples in a loveless marriage. Queuing up for the all-you-can-eat buffet behold putting your name down to take part in some evening karaoke with your mate Karen. Doesn’t exactly sound like my dream holiday. However, it appears there are a few misconceptions surrounding cruises and if these stories from a former cruise ship worker are anything to go by, I might be booking my first cruise fairly soon!

According to 52-year-old Tina Molson, who worked in the duty free section, cruises are basically a hotbed of sex, violence and cocaine. Here’s what she had to say:

Quote:The booze cruises were the ones where all hell broke loose. Those were usually three days, and people went on them purely to take advantage of the cheap, duty-free spirits. That’s when you would get passengers jumping into the pool fully clothed and the odd stag do on board.

That doesn’t sound too mental does it?! Claire Saunders, another ex ship worker had this to say about her experience:

Quote:Trips to Belgium and France were the worst because they were so cheap.
These were a lot cheaper than most cruises and really like a taster cruise, and they brought a different calibre of guests.
There was a lot of drinking. They would start with champagne for breakfast and just keep going.
The casino was open 24/7.The Brits were always the ones who took full advantage of all- inclusive drinks package.
If people aren’t fighting they are taking drugs. We got used to regular reports of cocaine being found.

Anyone fancy accompanying me on a cruise?
