So Fulham are down, gone. Championship football for them next year.
But why?
Is it due to the instability caused by having 3 different permanent managers over the course of a season?
Perhaps years of under-investment finally caught up with their ageing squad?
Maybe that £11m they splashed in January on an unfit Kostas Mitroglou would have been better spent on someone who was, you know, fit?
No, it's none of these things.
When Shahid Khan bought the club from Mohamed Al Fayed last summer, he took down the 'lucky' Michael Jackson statue.
Some quotes: "When the new owner decided to move it I said 'Fine, it is a lucky thing, you will regret it later'," Al Fayed said.
"Now the new owner will regret it because I warned him. I said 'You will pay with blood for that' because it was something loved by people.
"It was a big mistake but he paid for it now. He's been relegated and if he wakes up he'll ask for Michael Jackson again and I'll say 'No way'."
Yep. That'll be it...
