You've probably heard how Bernie Ecclestone's been on trial in Germany accused of paying a German banker $45m to ensure a large stake in F1 was purchased by a company he favoured.

It came to an end today when Ecclestone paid the court $100m.

Apparently that's a thing in Germany, where criminal cases can sometimes be settled with 'fines'.

Still, as long as he's learnt his lesson...

The court is surprised it took him this long to settle...
Apparently they're now considering charging him with alleged time-wasting.

Bernie isnt the brightest candle in the draw anymore is he. why it took him so long to pay the 'FINE' is a surprise to be honest

Hope the court didnt have a revolving door, he may be going round still

Think you will find that Bernie has been trying to get the fine reduced in the background to try and save himself a couple of million . When this failed he just sighed and paid up , things you can do when your rich .

Yeah, I heard about that.

He did actually get the fee reduced though.
Originally it was going to be £75m, but after paying a £15m 'backhander', he got it reduced to £60m.

Well he has all of that money. He as may well give some more of it away.
And why not stick to what you know best?

There will be a day he is finally caught and loses F1 or he dies. Whichever comes sooner.
