Hot on the heels of the successful, War on Drugs campaign launched in the 80’s (drugs won btw) the UK is now piling in on their own. Now I’m not saying that drugs aren’t linked to violent crime and that there isn’t an issue that needs solving but when you can solve a portion of the issue and improve the country by legalising and taxing marijuana it seems that this effort hasn’t quite been though through. Not only would the economy be stimulated there would be more jobs created in both the industry and for entrepreneurs but we could then remove cannabis from this effort which means less police time wasted and less incarceration for what is essentially being seen as something beneficial to a population. I don’t want them to take booze away but lets not forget that the most violent drug to the body and the worst for stimulating violent crime is the old electric soup. Like I said, needs a rethink.

Thought we were meant to be talking about confiscating the drivers licenses and passports of middle class cocaine users??

Yeah I heard that too although it seems the two narratives are getting blurred together. Also if we’re looking at that one, not exactly problem solving is it.
