I've seen him on Celebrity Antiques Roadtrip, he's awfully polite but he can do a mean haggle.
Now I have drawn up a list of basic rules for this show:
Never pay more than half the ticket price, they are always a blatant rip off.
Never buy anything made out of wood, it's just tat and unfashionable in the saleroom.
Don't be fooled into buying something with a crack in it because it's really cheap, that's false economy, it's broken.
If someone says the magic words Claris Cliff, buy buy buy!!! (although I base this on watching old episodes)
Don't buy things themed to your hobby or job, no one else knows what they are.
If the bonus buy cost more than £100, say NO.
And don't cheer and shout out in the auction room, it's rude
oh and one more, when the man hands you the folding money at the end, say "this is for charity", everyone will think you're great even if it's a lie.
