  I know this looks like a blatant rip off of "best RPG of all time", probably because it is.
  
  What would you say is the absolute best FPS of all time, ever?
  
  If you say CoD you get a slap.
  
  For me it would have to be the Timesplitters series, so much fun, with an excellent map maker, especially in number 3, its a shame the PS3 isn't backwards compatible!

  Bioshock counts as an FPS doesn't it? It has FPS gameplay for the most part so if it does It would be that one for me. Or if it doesn't then I personally always thought Resistance 2 is an excellent FPS game and one of my favourites (the 30 player online team death match is fun) and the different array of weapons are interesting.

  First Person Shooter is when only the weapon is visible on screen, so Bioshock would count, a 3rd person shooter is when the entire character is visible on screen, Mass Effect for example!!

  Oh it wasn't that bit that threw me (uncharted falls under the third person or that would have been my original response) it was the fact that Bioshock has some rpg elements so wasn't sure which category it technically fell into, it is more of an FPS than it is other genres though.
  I think to be more specific than my previous post it would probably be Bioshock Infinite, has more refined shooting mechanics (the others have good shooting mechanics but it's more fluid in infinite).

  Well where do we begin. There has been alot of good FPS over the years. My favourites have been Half Life, Battlefield, Crysis not to mention Call of Duty. To find the ultimate best FPS game will be hard lol

  Goldeneye on n64 has to be the best. Great story, great graphics for the time and best multiplayer. Unbeatable

  I would have to say the Wolfenstein series are always a good set of games. The latest one "Wolfenstein: The New Order" looks to be a game which I'm interested to see how it will work. It has a whole new storyline.

  I love classic doom, but all told I think the series I've had the most enjoyment from has been halo. Love the story, the characters and the multiplayer is pretty damn good too.
