Is it as good as the animated series? No. Is it better than the live-action film? Yes. The casting is good, especially the senior members of the cast. The fight choreography is good. The cinematography, production design, costume design and CGI are OK. My expectation levels were low when it was first announced and some of the reviews have been overly critical. But it's fairly decent to be honest. I'm not someone that likes this current trend of viscerally ripping all media to shreds and saying it's because of "wokeness". To be honest most stuff I watch is meh, sometimes it'll be decent and rarely it's a masterpiece. But that's due to my expectation levels are always mostly low, and sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised like I was with this. So whilst it wasn't outstanding, it was still something decent to watch at home on a cold weekend. And I wouldn't mind if they eventually adapted Book Two and Book Three.
