Mouthy pundits were quick to quote the total goals, but not the goals to games ratio which is a more accurate measure. Actually, if one wanted more precision goals per minute would yield an even more accurate statistic. I would imagine, that goals per minute would put Thierry Henry further ahead of Wayne Rooney's ass! Stats don't lie per say, but they can be misinterpreted. Usually by a silly pundit or a muppet with an angle! The facts are here that just because Rooney has scored one more goal than Henry doesn't mean sweet FA!
You'll have to score quite a few more Rooney before you can surpass a legend like Henry! Our stats our correct :) -

"Our stats our correct"? That's not correct! I meant, our stats "are" correct! Just typing about Wayne Rooney pisses me off, that's what affects my typing! The only Arsenal stat I don't like, is for ticket prices! I'd love to see progress there!

I think I'll go and sit down for a while, oh I am! It's all the shock of Wayne Rooney scoring a few goals! He scores in back to back games and he's being made out to be better than Henry, what bollocks, it's no wonder I cant spell, I'm shaking with rage...and sexual excitement! :) -

Its true......stats can be used by people with an angle....including an arsenal angle! I think goals per game is probably a better measure than total scored, but it doesn't tell all the story.
For example Rooney has more assists than Henry did, and for most of his prime seasons he was not played as the out and out striker in the team but still managed to bang in the goals. Also, he moved to United when still 18, so a lot of those games would have been as a developing player, whereas Henry arrived at 22.
I am a united fan - but would probably say Henry edges it as an out and out striker, the better overall footballer? More open.
Unrelated hypothetical question for Gunners fans - Pep Guardiola says hes choosing his next club this week, and his preference is Arsenal. No way of waiting, he wants to start immediately and this will be the only team he will ever coach in the premier league. Do you fire Wenger (as respectfully as possible) and hire Pep? (Wenger says he wont stay on in any capacity if fired, isn't bitter but will move elsewhere) -

It isnt really a measuring tool in my books :P Just a pretty decoration really ;) Credit to Arsenal for their unbeaten season though :P
