VOX youtube review here
Hi Clitterbagu , Just Awoke And Had To Check On Your Thread , Well Mate Just Had A Look N Listen To The Vox Mini 5 Rythm,
Simply WOW Very Encouraging Mate , So Versatile -Extreme Low Watt Reduction , Looks Like I'll Have To Have One Of These Little Beauties , So Portable , You Know That " You Are Spending My Yen Mate " Don't You , Mrs Jester Will Be Pleased ,Lmao.
After Seeing You Fathers Hofner - You Got Me Thinking - A Trip Down Memory Lane Was In Order , As You Recall I Had Got Myself An LP Rec Model - I Began Experimenting With It , I Could Create All Kinds Of Futuristic Sounds And All Of The Then Sounds Of The Day Too ,But I Was Looking For Some Thing Else Too But I Couldn't Put My Finger On It .
But Then I Had Heard That A Company WEM , Do You Know The Logo? . Well It Was "Watkins Electric Music" .
They Manufactured -Amps, Combo Speaker Amps, Heads And Guitars. Well A Little " Bird " LOL , Told Me To Check Them Out Because They Were Hitting The Scene With A New Revolutionary Distinct Creative Sound System, So Checked Them Out.
They Had Produced A Range Of Hard Tape Copycat Devices , None Of The Sheffield Guitar Shops Had The One I Wanted ,
So I Had To Head Over To The "Land Of Your Remarkable Birth " Liverpool" , There Was A Music Shop Called "Hessys" Do You Know Of It ? WEM Were Producing The " Custom Copicat MK iV " A Transistorised Updated Version Of The Valve Units Prior In The Mid 70's , So Whilst I Was There I Bought One £55 Along With A WEM Rapier Deluxe Guitar With a Tremelo Arm Fitted For Around £36
And A WEM Sapphire 100 Amp £45 ,An Expensive Trip Then But Certainly Worth Every Penny. (The Neighbours Not Withstanding Of Course When I Got Back lol)
Soon After I Upgraded The Amp To A WEM Monitor Reverb 50 Watt Combo. At A Later Date I Ordered A WEM Mersey Super 15
But It Never Arrived I Lost Out A Great Deal Of Money " I Blamed It On Yorkshire Bank At The Time Not Hessys " Never Mind.
In The 80's I Changed To The H&H Solid State Amps And Marshall Speakers " H&H S500D 250/Channel .
Very Load Might I Add ,lol , But Great When On Stage I Didn't Mind , Neither The Audience .
Since Then My Collection Has Changed A Bit , Especially The "Foot Board " Too Many O Name .
A Myriad Of Foot Set Ups , To Prevent Clashes Of Course , And Most Importantly " Clean Sounds"
Regarding Amps , I Now Use An "A.C.30 Custom Series " And Two Carr Amps " The Viceroy 1x12" & "The Sportsman Combo 1x10"
And Soon To Be Using The " Clitterbagu Special - Vox Mini 5 Rythm " Cheers Mate lol.
Clitterbagu , I Bring To Your Attention The " TOKAI GUITAR COMPANY OF JAPAN"
If You Have Not Tried A Tokai Then "NOWS THE TIME " Inexpensive £300 To £4000 , You Can Not Beat Them On Technical Excellence Or Price , They Put The American Markets To Shame ,
I Have The Following Tokai Guitars :
Tokai Stratocaster Mary Kaye ST50a (2010) - Tokai Telecaster "Breezysound" (2011) -Tokai LS1-R8 Les Paul Reborn (2012)
Tokai LS2-GT Les Paul Reborn Old (2012)
And One Of My Finest Thanks To "Mrs Jester And Her Extended Influence"
A Tokai LS95W-CBBN Geoff Beck Model Limited Run ,
I Have A 3 Tokai USG Models " USG100 " USG 90 " USG 85" All Incredible In There Own Right
And The Tokai SG Standard
Clitterbagu The Tokai's Are Incredible My Friend , Old Vintage Are The Best But The New LP's Are Just "Well" I'm Speechless ,
Things Can Only Get Better . They Out Do The American LP's That's For Sure And I'm Not Being Biased In This Understanding,
Try Them Out If You Slready Have Not , What Have You To Loose , " Nowt lol "
A Mavelous End To This Journey Down Memory Lane -Thanks Mate.Keep Jamming.
Chat Soon Mate Regards Jester

Jester this is basically my musical past, after starting on my dads Hofner he gave me his Harmony Meteor, then I started getting my own gear, all second hand from shops/local paper, but all decent.
First I got the Epiphone Cherry ive already mentioned, then
The Applause electro acoustic, then the band got a bit more serious and I moved to bass, my first bass was the
Aria Pro Cardinal, then
The Hohner headless
The Warwick Streamer
The Yamaha BB fretless
Had a Jay Dee aswell but cant remember what model.
First bass amp was a battered old H&H VS bought it from Curly Music for around £75 then moved on as we got LOUDER to Peavy Mark vi 400 with 1820 cab, fuckinell m8 that could set off earthquakes!!
Now alls ive got are the guitars I started the thread with, the Michael Kelly and the Epi Sherraton 2 great guitars though, and the Vox Mini 5.
I bow to your collection your a lucky guy to have all that and the gorgeous little Yukio, lucky lucky guy! bastard!!! :P
