I've struggled to get into the new stuff with William Duvall on vocals though. It's alright and one song I heard I really liked... but it's just not AIC for me without Layne's vocals and songwriting!
Rooster is definately one AIC's best songs,
That was the new singers name, i've been trying to remember that and couldn't,
i actually really liked the new album he's not quite as good a singer as layne but he's got a good voice and cantrell is still a great songwriter and still an extremely talented guitarist.

Jerry Cantrell is amazing (his solo stuff is well worth checking out if you haven't already), and the new guy is definitely a good singer, I just disagree with them using the AIC name because to me it'll never be AIC without Layne.

I'd have been saying the same thing had it been Jerry instead. They were both too integral to the band for them to carry on playing under the name without them.

I've not heard jerry cantrell's solo material yet, i tried to to get one of the albums before but it turned out i couldn't afford it at the time so had to leave it, will have to try again soon,
they originally only got together again with the new singer for a one off gig but they all enjoyed playing music together again, i admit it's not quite the same without layne but i personally think they still count as AIC and they still make great music once you get used to them having a different singer.

'Degredation Trip' is the better of his 2 albums, but Boggy Depot is still pretty good too. I've see 'Boggy...' for about £3 - £4 in the sales so you should be able to pick it up cheaply somewhere if you shop around. You can probably listen to most (if not all) of the songs on youtube though .

That was the album i was going to buy Degradation trip, i even saw a special 2 disk edition that i would of bought, but it was on ebay and the seller feedback was a bit iffy so decided not to,
heard a few off it and i liked them may try again to get it, i'll probably get boggy depot aswell but wanna get Degradation trip first.

In regards to Jerry cantrell`s solo stuff, i remembered the other day when i was listening to damageplan that he guests on one of their songs,
ok technically it`s not really his song but it`s a very good song,
it`s called soul bleed, any AIC or Cantrell fans should check it out.

The song i mentioned featuring jerry cantrell in my last post,

Ok so technically it`s not alice in chains but it`s featuring jerry cantrell so this is the best place to post it, and i think it sounds very like AIC,
It`s not actually got a video though.
