Pro boxers at Olympics
Jackdalad > 14/06/2016, 17:24
So this year for the Olympics in Rio they are allowing Pro's to compete in the Olympics. I think this is outrages especially now as head guards are no longer used as you could get a seasoned pro going up against a young amateur which is just stupidly dangerous. -

Seems Amir Khan has decided against boxing in the Olympics after admitting he would not be ready for a place in Rio, he already won a silver medal at the 2004 Athens Games so I don't know why he felt like as a successful pro he'd go back and try win gold, give the youth a chance -

I am pleased to see that the WBC are against this ridiculous idea, they have said if any fighter ranked in their top 15 fights at the Olympics, they will be banned from their rankings for 2 years. -

The one and only Arthur Spooner, I loved you in King of Queens dude. But yeah that's great what they are doing and I feel the other sanctioning bodies need to follow suit. They should't restrict it to fighters in the top 15 though
