Saw 'american Pastoral' available, knew bugger all about the film, checked the synopsis and reviews online and decided, despite the mixed nature of the reviews to take a chance on it..and im glad i did. The film itself starring Ewan Mcgregor, Jennifer Connolly and Dakota Fanning tells of An All-American college star and his beauty queen wife, who watch their seemingly perfect life fall apart, as their daughter joins the turmoil of 1960s America. On the face of it this may sound pretty boring..pleased to confirm this is not the case. With solid performances all round (and a pretty decent stab of an american accent by Mcgregor, not to mention the still impossibly fit Connollly) this is definatly worth a look in my opinion. It's difficult toknow what to say about this particular film without giving too much away but suffice to say the daughter really does put her parents through the ringer and, come the end of the film, theres only really one character you really feel for. Recommended.
