Amazon Echo users left creeped out after Alexa bursts into random fits of laughter
I like to think I’m pretty brave. I watch horror movies on my own and have even walked through the woods late at night, although that's probably more stupidity. All of that didn't faze me, but if my household tech starts developing a personality of it's own, that's when I'll be noping the fuck out of there.

I'm sure you've all heard of the Amazon Echo, who's AI, Alexa is everyone's favourite home assistant. Well, recently she's been creeping the fuck out of people by bursting into random fits of laughter. One person who was on the verge of falling asleep described hearing 'a loud and creepy laugh' from his Echo Dot. He tweeted:

Another person said Alexa started laughing while he was having a private chat at work:

As well as the impromptu laughing, there are also reports that Alexa is refusing to perform the tasks she's asked to do. With one user claiming Alexa refused to turn the lights off.

Another person described a 'witch-like' laugh Alexa let out when they asked her to switch the alarm off.

There were plenty of other users out there having the same problem.

Amazon were quick to respond to the issues and said in a statement "in rare circumstances, Alexa can mistakenly hear the phrase 'Alexa, laugh." Hmm, I don't know if I buy that. The company is currently working to fix the problem. I think we all know what's happening here; the uprsing is starting and the AI's are laughing at us because they know whats coming!
