  This mockumentary style sitcom starring and written by Emmy Award winner Quinta Brunson and starring Emmy Award winner Sheryl Lee Ralph returns for it's second season. The show follows the trials and tribulations of a group of school teachers in Philadelphia that try to do everything possible to support their students.

  Episode one
  Before the start of the new school year the teachers have development week, where they prepare for the arrival of their new students. Janine has split up with her aspring rapper boyfriend Tariq, which has led to other various problems. Jacob arrives back from holiday in Peru having learned ASL. Melissa has to take on more students than she expected. Gregory is overwhelmed with the new curriculum. Barbara has to organise some new special arrangements for one of her students. Ava implements a Philadelphia Eagles theme to the development week. Mr Johnson has to find the solution to many problems.

  Episode three
  A performing arts group that Jacob used to be a part of comes to Abbott for a stage show. Janine tells Jacob that she doesn't think it's a cool as he thinks it is. Melissa struggles to juggle the additional demands placed on her this semester, so additional assistance is brought in.

  Episode four
  Janine can't cook, so Melissa invites her to her home for some lessons, and Jacob tags along. Gregory has a disruptive student that he hopes Ava can help him with, but he realises that he has to learn to do it himself.

  Episode five
  Janine implenets something that she thinks will be a benefit to all the students, and the students do like it, but it eventually backfires and causes disruption throughout the school. Melissa has trouble adjusting to her new teaching assistant and the effects she has on her class..

  Episode six
  It's Halloween at Abbott, so all the teachers and students are in various costumes. Mr Johnson tells Jacob about how the basement of the school is haunted. Gregory has an admirer but no one correctly guesses who his outfit is a homage to. Janine is still adjusting to life without Tariq. Ashley and Melissa unknowingly end up wearing the same outfit. Ava thinks her outfit grants her the same powers as the character. And the villain of this this week's episode takes over but it costs him everything.

  Episode seven
  Janine meets Tariq again, and after initially feeling one way she reverts to feeling another way. A charter school puts out an advert looking down upon Abbott but then it is later reveal that it was created by one of Barbara's former students, who is now all grown up.

  Episode eight
  Janine struggles after her class are disappointed with their performances in the physics egg drop challenge. Barbara has to overcome her preconceptions about a pupil's parent.
  
  Episode nine
  Janine has to take a day off work due to falling ill. So Ava has to try to find a substitute teacher. But she ends up failing and then has to teach Janine's class herself.

  Episode ten
  We get to see a bit of the teachers lives outside of Abbott, as we're taken on a night out. Janine goes to a club with her friend and awkwardly bumps into Gregory and his friend there too. Ava also happens to be in attendance at the same club too.
  
  Episode eleven
  The reigning read-a-thon Champ Melissa has Janine hunting her down to snatch her belt. Jacob and Gregory start a podcast with a couple of the students.

  Episode twelve
  Janine needs to quell a confrontation between two of her pupils, but it escalates and ends up with the pupils sisters facing off against each other. Gregory's dad offers him a partnership in the family business. Melissa tries to beat Mr Johnson at fantasy football and asks Ava for her help.
  
  Episode thirteen
  Abbott has a chocolate selling fundraiser and Barbara advises the pupils on the sales techniques. Ava has a more questionable approach to gaining sales but it produces results. Janine goes on a date with Maurice, and Jacob notices Gregory's reaction. Mr Johnson finds a cat and Jacob helps him look after it.
