  What a brilliant game the original Red Dead Redemption was. You went through the American Wild West killing bandits. Well now, Take Two Software are planning to create a sequel because they believe it is just as much a "permanent" franchise as GTA.
  
  
  
  Apparently it could even be available sometime this year. This is a good move I feel. Finally, we are getting a sequel to one of the best games.
  
  Is anyone else here a Red Dead Redemption fan? Did you like the first game?

  Enjoyed Red Dead Redemption (definitely more than GTA5).
  
  Although I'd be curious to see what they do setting wise - do they continue on from where the original left off? Or do they just create new characters and put them in a new time frame aswell?

  Liked the original game except never cared much for the ending of the main character's story. If they are smart they do not continue where the last one left off but come up with new characters and story.

  I was completely engrossed with RDR and oftentimes lost myself in the ambiance. I could ride my horse for horse for hours at a time along the countryside, admiring the beauty of the American west.
  However, the game itself did not have enough satisfying activities to keep me occupied for long, perhaps it is just my own dissatisfaction of the open world genre or Rockstar's way of handling their open world games. Many of the activites to do in the world felt boring and left me without motivation to even finish the main story line. The environment and art design is truly magnificent however, but as a cohesive package of gaming, I feel it felt a bit flat.

  I like this news, liked Red Dead Redemption (and Undead Nightmare), so a new game for the new consoles should be good. Hopefully the sequel won't have your horse wandering off everytime you get off it (honestly always seems to happen to me in that game).

  red dead was an amazing game that i didnt pick up right away, but when i did it was fantastic. they have to make the same sort of effort with the music if they make a sequel, was one of the best aspects of the original
